Present day, London and then Scotland

Mara McDougall runs a tour business for would-be ghost hunters. As she is taking a break and finding some downtime from her work for just a bit she finds herself in an antique shop and comes upon an unusual four poster bed. She falls in love with it but knows she has no room for it in the states. She runs into a tall, handsome Highlander who she feels is dressed rather funny and he tells her to "Begone! Her ilk will never sleep in his bed." then he just ups and disappears. His rudeness infuriates her. She goes back to her hotel to find a message from a solicitor. She meets him to find that she's inherited Ravenscraig Castle from an eccentric old lady who took a liking to her when she ran her tours through her mansion in the Cotswolds. The castle is in Scotland and in order to keep it she has to erect a MacDougall memorial on the castle grounds and reunite the clan. She now has a place for that bed she fell in love with.

She arrives at her castle only to find him there to her amazement. She soon starts to believe he IS a ghost and this starts a funny and yet trying journey for these two. For hundreds of years Alex has haunted the bed and scared away all MacDougalls but here comes this American woman who stands her ground and he finds himself falling in love with the enemy. What a humorous and heart pulling story! Two people who find each other across time and came to find that real love and a little magic can conquer all. I was even oh so glad to see a favorite hero of mine make an appearance.... Sir Marmaduke Strongbow in all his ghostly glory!

Ah, you gotta love those sexy highlanders. The books are well written, storyline believeable and very engrossing. Characters are very likeable. Check them out. You're going to love them.
Highlander in her bed is an excellent book by Allie Mackay. It a series of hers and should be read by anyone who likes to read about the paranormal. I whole heartedly recommend it.
A great book. Once you start reading it you can't stop. Humor, time travel and a highland hero. It will grab you.
Some may think this a silly book but I really enjoyed it. I love ghostly romance and this one was a nice, fun and sexy read. Wish I could find more like it.
As usual, anything about Scotland is a really good read! Would recommend highly for those who love to read about Scotland.
This was an OK paranormal. The hero was very yummy and realistic...you know, for a ghost. The couple does end up together for reasons that are never fully fleshed out. Mara, the main charcter is likeable BUT my main gripe is that she talks like She's the one born in the 13th century. She says these phrases and if she had used them in modern conversation, no matter what country you live in, people would look at her and say "Huh? Who talks like that! What do you think you are a character in a historical romance?"

Besides that, the secondary characters introduced as fellow cursed highlander buddies of our main hero are quite entertaining. I wouldn't mind picking up one of their sequals. But this is a light read, as mentioned by other reviewers. And don't let the cover blurb by Angela Knight fool you into thinking this is a particularly steamy read either. It has it's moments but never gets so hot you'd have to call the fire department.
I bought this a while back and life kept getting in my way .I read it yesterday kindle version and loved it .It had a nice story that left me feeling good .That might not sound exciting but feeling good ,relaxed and laughed out loud enjoyable is a great thing for me .Started the next one today and did make sure I had them all .
