I love Rachel Caine! Her books are like brain candy. I gobble them up and can't get my fill! Perfect beach reads. I love the characters. I can't wait to spend 13 more books with them! I don't understand how I'm so late coming to this series. It's paranormal with vampires in Texas and a brainy girl facing off with all the supernatural I adore! So much happens and I'm always on the edge of my seat holding my breath! And the endings. Cliffhangers that make me grab the next book. The books are smooth reads that fly by. Seriously fast fun reads!!!

This contain the 1st two books in the Morganville Vampires series. Try Glass Houses 1st, because if you love the storyline & characters as much as I did, you'll want to buy the 1st 8 volumes in a 4-book set of large paperbacks. Yesterday I ordered the next 6. You can also read each 1 separately on , but they are so good, you'll want a copy on your shelves.
I really like the Morganville Vampires series. The books are well written and fun to read. The only thing I would like to see in the books is a little more variety. They are basically one main problem/adventure per book, and a few more story lines, even small ones, would be good. I would recommend this series to anyone. It is overall good reading.
I loved this book and it instantly sucked me into the series. It is great to have the first two novels in one book. The only thing that I didn't love about it was that a lot went wrong for the main character. A lot. Other than that, the writing and plot are great. The four main characters, Michael, Shane, Eve and Claire are so well written. You will want to be friends with them all. This series is definitely one to check out.
Let me just say that I'm a very speedy reader because of this series. I just can't put it down. And I never ever read books. I even purchased a for this and plan to get the Fire soon. I'm on book 10 now and I'm getting down because I only have 2 books left until the next one. I'm so glad I took a chance on this. I'd have to say that of the vamps, Myrnin and Oliver would be my favs. And Claire is just so Bad Ass! Michael is so sweet. The stories and twists in each book are great. You just don't know what to expect. I'm reading other vampire books but this just tops it. If you're considering this you won't regret it. Believe me.
Rachel Caine is a Genius....Volume 1 of Morganville Vampires included Glass Houses and The Dead Girl Dance.....let me say once it starts..it DOES NOT quit.....I am exhausted with the constant action and situations.....Love the main characters....Claire may be 16 but she is one little tough chick....Eve is a BIG HEARTED SWEETHEART goth you adore....Michael and Shane...handsome..caring...and hot....whew hot.....This Morganville world is a constant nail biter....Love these books sooo much...starting the next volume now....maybe I need to rest some first because I know the action is non stop.....keep it up Rachel....
If you want to read a great vampire series, the Morganville Vampires Series is what you're looking for. I bought Volume One (Glass Houses/ The Dead Girls' Dance) for a friend's birthday present. I loved that there were two books in one book.
I opened the first page to read a chapter and see what the book was about. Before I realized, it was midnight and I had finished Glass Houses. I wanted to read through the night and finish The Dead Girls' Dance. The plot is quick and I couldn't read fast enough! The cliffhangers will make you run to the computer and order the next book.
I am a big fan of fantasy and paranormal novels when they are written well, and this author certainly succeeded in my humble opinion. I
absolutely devoured this book. The characters are easy to identify with especially for anyone who has ever felt like an outcast. It is a complex
story with enough plot twists to make your head spin and it keeps you so engrossed you can't wait to see what happens next.

The protagonist Claire is a tough, smart little wunderkind who gets thrown into a world completely different than anything she's ever experienced in
her life. I loved the author's descriptions of Claire's emotions which are a mix of adolescent and new adult feelings, like the quote from pg 173
"The whole world hushed, one perfect second of stillness. Claire didn't even think her heart beat."

I was every bit as caught up with this story as I was with Twilight and the Mortal Instruments series. I am looking forward to continuing my
journey through Morganville, one novel at a time.
